Fort Myers Beach, Florida, 2013

I've had an Artyscapes blog page at Wordpress, but I'm so familiar with Blogspot I decided to ditch it and start over here.

We're in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida, for the winter getaway.  We'll be here until around the first week in March.  Our rental house is on a canal so Wayne can fish (and still run into the computer if he needs to work some)...and it's within walking distance of the Ft. Myers Beach Art Association where I paint with groups during the week and take workshops.

We got here last Friday (narrowly escaping an ice storm that hit Knoxville that day).  Our friends Ben and Sharon are here for the month of January and they kindly had us over for supper the night we got to town.  We see more of them in Florida than when we're all in Knoxville!  Today Sharon and I are going to check out some thrift shops down in Bonita Springs, then have lunch.

Fishing for Wayne, so far, has been spotty.  He caught, and thew back, a catfish yesterday.  The highlight of the day (for me) was when he snagged a small sting ray!

Business, for Wayne, has been pleasantly busy.  He's been able to bike down to the community tennis courts in the morning to serve some...then have some quality time on the back dock in the afternoon.  I've taken walks in the morning on the beach...then worked on finishing up the collaborative book for our book guild.
